Overcoming negativity


  • Are you easily discouraged whenever you come across a little opposition and resistance?

  • Do you fail to achieve your goals because you want it to be easy to do so?

  • Do you allow the voice from within, (negative self-talk) or from without (other people) to influence you, hindering your progress in life?

Overcoming negativity is something we all battle to overcome.

Whatever goals that you set out to achieve in life, it is very likely that you will run into some opposition. This resistance may come in various forms and sometimes from unexpected or unusual places. Often, the people you think will be supportive, are the ones who give you the most opposition, or provide you with no support at all.

So, what do you do when this happens?

Stop letting your fear hinder you from moving forward in your personal growth; turn that fear into a stepping stone to greater things!

Some things you can do to eliminate negativity are:

  • Remember when you are starting something new, you are stretching yourself into a new arena, it’s challenging so there is some fear but there is a lot of growth too. If you are not being challenged in any way, you are not growing, so embrace the fear and move forward!

  • Lose the negative people that whisper sour nothings and surround yourself with people that are supportive and encouraging.

  • Write your goals down and look at them often throughout the day, also reflect on things that you have already accomplished to give yourself a boost.

  • Take time for yourself, meditate, exercise and eat healthy foods. You will need to be in the best shape possible to do the work necessary to accomplish your goals.

  • Have the attitude of gratitude! The great thing about being grateful is that you don’t have time to be negative or worry about what you don’t have when you are appreciative of what you do.

  • Finally the most important thing you can do is to stay positive! Your inner critic can beat you up so, be very careful about your thoughts. What you think about is what you bring about.

Remember,​ you are stronger and more capable than

you can ever imagine!
